B. Nektar makes honey wine, which is also known as mead. The honey winery was founded by Brad and Kerri Dahlhofer in the fall of 2006 in Ferndale, Michigan. Brad started as a homebrewer in 1998 and got into mead making shortly thereafter. In fact, mead making became something of an obsession that soon was filling Brad and Kerri's house with buckets, carboys and other mead making equipment. It was Kerri that said, "lets start a meadery" after she tried a glass of Vanilla Cinnamon mead. That mead went on to win a silver medal at the 2007 National Homebrew Competition in Dever, CO. B. Nektar makes meads that extend beyond the traditional honey wine. With so many varieties of honey, how could we not? We let our imaginations guide us.
